Towner develops and supports artistic practice and collaborates with individuals, communities and organisations to deliver an inclusive, connected and accessible public programme. Towner also runs a professional development programme for artists of all levels offers artist residencies, mentoring, and opportunities for collaboration and showcasing work. Unsolicited proposals
Towner’s exhibitions and events are programmed up to three years in advance on the invitation of the Director and Senior Management Team who work closely with artists to develop and realise the production of exhibitions and events. For this reason, we do not accept unsolicited proposals and cannot cover costs to return proposals if they are submitted.

Develop a year-long programme with Arts-in-Mind
Towner is seeking a visual artist to work on a year-long programme with members of Arts-in-Mind, a group of adults living with mental health conditions, who have been meeting weekly at Towner (some for up to 12 years) to make artwork and support their health and wellbeing.

Open Plan: Summer Studio
In August, we will be opening the doors at Towner for Open Plan: Summer Studio, with our ground floor studio becoming a workspace for artists.
You are invited to spend a week with other artists in the region, to share ideas and perspectives, forming connections to support you in generating new artworks, collaborations and opportunities together.
