Towner Seven Sisters at Black Robin Farm
Art, Nature and Heritage in the South Downs
Opening in 2030
Towner Seven Sisters is a new cultural centre planned for the South Downs in Sussex, located within the historic Black Robin Farm.
Whether you're just passing through for a walk or coming inside, you will be able to experience the unique South Downs landscape through exhibitions and creative activities that celebrate and protect the beauty, heritage and ecology of the South Downs.
This new venue will be a gateway to the South Downs National Park, a place that connects local communities and visitors from around the world with the landscape, its stories and its future.
Plans are underway for the site to open to the public in 2030.
Eastbourne Heritage Collections
Towner have recently become custodians of Eastbourne’s Heritage Collections, made up of approximately 20,000 artefacts, photographs and works on paper of local and regional significance. Items from Eastbourne’s Heritage Collections will be on display at Towner Seven Sisters allowing visitors to explore stories about the people, places and landscape of the South Downs. The Collection will be used as a resource for associated learning and engagement projects.
Alongside archaeology, the collections include paper records, maps, farming equipment, clothing, ceramics and photographs that document everyday life, agriculture and environmental change. Together, these objects allow for layered storytelling about people, place and landscape, from prehistoric communities through to modern Eastbourne.
The Eastbourne Heritage Collection was relocated in Spring 2026 to a new storage facility in Hampden Park, allowing for easier care and management of the Collection. The new store will allow greater access for wider research and engagement activities.
